In 1992, after a life-changing accident involving a car and a flash flood, honor student and athlete, Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch) underwent a transformation and threw away what he had. He gave his $24,000 savings to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. In his journey, he meets people who leads him along his path.
