Gracie Movie Relives Old Times of Elisabeth Shue
Elisabeth Shue went into movie history withe her appearance in the first Karate Kid movies. In one scene there, she is shown playing soccer. She is really a soccer fan from an early age. In Gracie, the main character, played by Carly Schroeder, is a girl out fight for the rights of girls to play competitive soccer. This mirrors Shue's childhood when she found out that girls were not very welcome as soccer players in elementary school. She tried out for a team and ended up playing for a boys team playing against other boy teams. In high school, there were no girls allowed in any teams, so she ended up in gymnastics. Schroeder actually resembles Shue in many ways and I even thought she was Shue in the poster. I think this movie will prove to be a definite shue-in for fans.
