Silk Movie to Cater to Romance and Keira Knightly Fans

Silk is the story of a married silkworm merchant-turned-smuggler in 19th century France who goes to Japan to source new silkworms after his African source was decimated. He then becomes obsessed with the concubine of a local baron in Japan. The tension mounts as their love remained unrequited, then war complicates matters. The movie is based on Alessandro Baricco's novel. It stars Keira Knightly who is shown above on the set. Silk may prove popular with female romance novel fans who like exotic settings and adventure. The males, on the other hand, would want to see it for Knightly.
