A movie about surfing penguins vying for a championship? Why not? This is Surf's Up, starring the voice of Jeff Bridges. If you're into animation, penguins and surfing, this is the movie for you, especially this summer season. The story moves around Rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick, played by Shia LaBeouf, as he enters his first competition. He leaves his home in Antarctica to go to Pen Gu island. He meets a line of amusing characters along the way who help him out in preparing for and joining the Big Z Memorial Surf Off.
While a cartoon, the movie does give a timeless message for everyone to learn from. It is about discovering that winning is not really about finishing first. How does Cody perform in the contest? Watch it and find out. The movie also stars James Woods, John Heder, Mario Cantone, and Zooey Deschanel.
